As the UX Designer/Researcher of AmigoCloud you will be in charge of researching, analyzing and testing all our products in order to improve them and making them suitable for our clients and users. You will help everyone focus on the user.
In this role, you will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for the entire product team including designers and engineers. You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our users through methods like field visits, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis.
Your research will help us create a useful, usable, and delightful product and new features for that would make GIS accessible everywhere by everyone . You will be defining the experience of users in companies like Google, VTA (one of the largest transportation agencies in the US), US State Agencies, etc.
Role responsibilities
Conduct user and stakeholder research. Document and present findings.
Document and visualize processes, flows, customer journey maps, personas, storyboards.
Translate concepts into wireframes, low and high fidelity mockups and interfaces.
Design and deliver experiences optimized for a wide range of devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
Build and support rich and interactive graphical representations of data (reports, dashboards).
Collaborate with the product team to manage and estimate the size and complexity of the features/stories. Perform the technical design, implementation, and testing of feature/stories and commit to what can be accomplished in an iteration.
Contribute to defining the ‘what’ as well as the ‘how’ - not just translating requirements into designs but also offering possible additional interaction solutions
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging design principles and best practices in visual design, user interface design, interaction design, etc.
Requirements
Design experience is desirable
Social Sciences or Humanities background (or equivalent knowledge) prefered
A passion for design and continuous improvement
Experience creating UI specs & wireframes with the flexibility and willingness to move from idea to whiteboard, to execution quickly
Openness to receiving feedback and have your opinions be challenged
Exceptional written and oral communication skills - you can tell compelling stories about your designs and present your work with confidence, regardless of the audience (engineers, PMs, executives, other designers, etc.)
Ability to prioritize projects, communicate progress, and deliver on time
Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high growth environment
Experience with ethnography techniques
Experience with user-centered design methodologies
Desired experience and skills
Ethnographic skills as the study of people and culture
Working knowledge and understanding of the principles behind agile methodologies beyond the specifics of frameworks like SCRUM or systems like Kanban
Experience conducting Lean and Agile UX processes
